Faculty Garden of the Faculty of Science
The area originally planned as a parking lot was transformed into a faculty garden in 2014. The aim was to create a resting area and, at the same time, a highly structured "wilderness" using a near-natural restoration approach – a habitat for animals and plants that could also be used for teaching. As it stands now, the garden consists of undulating terrain with a small pond, sand dune, flowering meadow, kindergarten playground, trees, meadows, paths, banks, trunks of old trees, shelter, insect hotel, and more. The meadows were enriched by selected species of broadleaved herbs. The intentional transfer of selected wetland plants into the pond has been conducted.
